I'm drawn to contrasts of color, particularly when there are three or more distinct hues represented; so the presense of the white of the snow may explain why so many of my photographs are in Winter. Or perhaps, as a friend of mine once remarked, it's the white particularly that sets off the other colors.
The interplay of the lines of the bare tree branches also, of course, is more visible without, or with fewer, leaves...
...And the sky is also never so blue as on a cold Winter's day.
